This clean collectible pre-owned Zeiss Ikon Contaflex 50mm f2.8 Super B S/N – 3910550 (Collectable) 35mm SLR, looks very similar to the Contaflex Super New Style (rapid film advance, accessory shoe on prism housing, interchangeable magazine backs, coupled exposure meter, external exposure meter window), except exposure meter indicator on top and in viewfinder has numbers, and aperture priority automatic exposure control, a newly introduced feature. Interchangeable auxiliary front lens elements.

The Contaflex family of 35mm leaf-shutter SLR cameras was introduced in 1953 by Zeiss Ikon, utilising what was the newly developed Compur reflex shutter. By doing so, a completely new 35mm camera emerged, a concept probably first used in 1929 in the Mentor Compur-Reflex. The Contaflex name was made famous and became highly respected due to the spectacular 35mm twin-lens reflex Contaflex, introduced in 1935 and only produced for a few years.

The camera is fitted with an even rarer genuine Zeiss Icon Fold down Rubber Lens Hood and B+W Schneider 27E Filter that has protected the lens since it was new.
